Our Biggest DIY Project To Date

I’ve been holding out on y’all. Nick and I have been working for several weeks now on what may be our biggest project ever! No, it’s not a big remodel, although I have always dreamed of adding a half bath…

We’re making our own little person!

Some of you were savvy enough to guess based on my complaints of constant tiredness. I want to thank y’all for being so patient as my productivity plummeted. Turns out that baking a baby really saps your energy! I went from cranking out projects all weekend, every weekend, to lying useless on the couch and trying not to be sick. Things are really looking up now that I’m past the 12 week mark, though, and I’m excited to see what projects the famous nesting instinct will eventually inspire.

As for the baby, he or she is expected to arrive in early July. I think it’s a girl, Nick thinks it’s a boy, but we’ll both be thrilled either way. I am so freaking excited about being a mama! We just can’t wait to meet this little person who will so drastically change our lives.

Between now and then, I’d like to:

  • finish outfitting the front room as a functional family room and office (that can also serve as a playroom for the little one someday)
  • turn the smallest bedroom, which used to be our office, into the most adorable nursery you’ve ever seen
  • finish. the. wing. chairs. Can’t have people coming over to see the baby with no place to sit!

Those are the biggies. I’m sure I’ll distract myself along the way with other little projects I convince myself are vitally important, but I’ll be trying my darnedest to knock out those three big priorities. Hopefully the rest of this pregnancy will go smoothly and I’ll have plenty of time and energy to get it all done!

I love your way of announcing it via the 13 weeks picture. I had mentioned it to Sarah that I was curious about your lack of energy a while back.
Best wishes and slow down. Ms. Joanne (Sarah’s mom).
