My etsy shop has been open for just under two months now and things are coming along swimmingly! In fact, after a big order last week I realized it was finally time to stop procrastinating and re-stock those virtual shop shelves with some vintagey goodness.
I’ve got some stuff for the table…
Vintage Tupperware Set of 6 Harvest Gold Bowls
Set of Cut Glass Tumblers and 11″ Silver Tray
Some decorative whatnots…
Vintage Gorham Footed 9″ Silverplate Bowl
A couple of vintage cameras (since my Polaroid sold)…
Imperial Magimatic 210 Pocket Camera
And some of you may be excited to see that I’ve decided to sell off some of my corks!
Wine Corks (Set of 25 or Set of 50)
Also, since I’ve made a small profit since getting started (about $100 or so), I went ahead and invested $35 in a postal scale. I was really intimidated by shipping at first and decided to use flat rate boxes to keep things simple, but now that I’m feeling a little more comfortable I can expand my horizons a bit. I ordered a bunch of free priority mail boxes in various sizes so now I can decide on a case by case basis whether it would be cheaper to ship an item by weight or in a flat rate box. I was even able to lower shipping a bit on some of the items I’ve had in the shop since it opened!
I have to say that I’m just thrilled with how things have been going in the shop. Business has been steady, but not more than I can keep up with while working full time + running a blog + baking a baby. Between hoarding packaging materials and getting free boxes from the postal service I’ve kept the whole shipping operation pretty efficient, and it’s been really easy for me to pack items up and get them sent out the next business day after each purchase. And the whole thing is FUN! I’ve always loved thrifting, but I didn’t realize how much I would enjoy showing off my purchases with the world. Even the photography is not so bad (when I first started blogging photography was the bane of my existence). So, in summary, I’m having fun, making money, and feeling pretty darn proud of myself in the process. I’m soooo glad I took the leap and decided to do this. Best. Decision. Ever.
