I definitely won’t be able to put these kid-size chairs to use for at least another year, but I just couldn’t help myself when I saw them on clearance at Target.com.
They were less than $50 after shipping for the pair. I’ve always imagined that the front room/office would also serve as a play area for Jack someday, so I’m stoked to have already scored a stylish spot for him (and a friend) to sit.
I rarely show photos of this side of the room because it’s still very much a work in progress. Those cube shelving units have seen better days and need badly to be replaced. I’d like to switch out the one at the far end of the room for a big armoire to store shipping materials for my shop and some other items that just don’t have a good home in this room with no closet (bolts of fabric, camera tripod, etc.). As for the area across from the sofa, I’m dying to ditch the giant TV and bring in some sort of toy storage/activity table combo. Maybe a low, long table with a few cubbies underneath? I’m not sure yet. And maybe we’ll mount a small flat screen tv on the wall for the occasional kid movie (or workout video-that baby weight’s not gonna lose itself!).
The whole room is a mess right now. Just keepin’ it real, folks. I’ve got some serious cleaning and organizing to do, one nap at a time.
If you love my chairs you can snag a pair of your own here. It looks like they’re sold out of the white, but espresso and pink are still available. I usually think Target furniture is sort of overpriced and underwhelming, but these were an exception. They were even pretty easy to put together and seem quite sturdy.
I LOVE the wooden chair in the last picture!
I do too! It doesn’t really have a home right now though, hence it’s random placement in the middle of this room.
You could just mount a “table” on top of those low, long square shelves and call it a play table with storage underneath. And that sofa looks so comfy!
I like the chairs! They remind me of new schoolroom chairs.
