After writing about it last week I went ahead and ordered this indoor-outdoor rug for my living room. It arrived on Friday, just in time for me to roll it out and wish it farewell before taking Jack to visit grandparents for the weekend while Nick went to Texas for a fantasy football draft party (seriously, he’s obsessed with all things athletic). This way everyone was happy–Nick got to go out with his friends for the first time since becoming a dad, I wasn’t stuck alone with a baby all weekend, and all four grandparents got to cuddle the little guy to their hearts’ content.
I LOVE the new rug. The room instantly felt bigger, brighter, warmer, and cleaner. And despite being suitable for outdoor use it feels really nice underfoot. I’ve even caught the cats lounging on it a few times, which is strange since they usually choose to cuddle up on the furniture.
It coordinates really well with all the stuff I already have, which is a big plus. It almost looks like I decorated the room with this rug in mind, which obviously I didn’t but it just goes to show that these particular colors are pretty popular in my house, particularly that shade of blue.
I should have done this a long time ago. The zebra floorcloth, while really cool, was never really a great solution for a room where so much living is done. A real rug is much more inviting and comfortable, especially now that we’ve got a kid. I’m hoping this one will stick around for a few years. I still think under $200 for a rug of this size is a really great deal, but I’d rather not spend that much money again for a while if I can help it.
Ps, after going and looking at the rug online again so I could link to it, I realized A) it’s even cheaper now than when I bought it, and B) my rug is a different pattern than the one pictured! Weird, huh? I wonder if I could get a refund if I complained. I don’t really mind though, seeing as its more the size and color that drew me in than the pattern. Funny that I didn’t even notice until now!
