Anti-Procrastination Week

I’ve been working on a lot of stuff behind the scenes on my blog and shop this week. I suddenly got motivated to do all this stuff I’d been procrastinating about for months, like updating my How-To page…

Before it was just a list of links that hadn’t been updated in over six months! Now it’s got images linked to over 100 DIY projects and nuggets of genius. Just hover your mouse over an image to see a description of a project, then click to be taken to that blog post. I heart it so much. Please feel free to give me a giant ego boost by spending the rest of your weekend perusing every project I ever completed. Haha, just kidding, no pressure.

I also updated our House Tour page-the last big update was last September. Some rooms, like the kitchen, laundry room, and master bedroom, haven’t changed much at all (so I didn’t even bother with getting them clean enough for pictures, haha). But others, like the living room and dining room, had, and the nursery and office weren’t even included before! The house tour page now features wide-angle shots of all those rooms that give you a much better view than ever before.

I also updated our About page to reflect the minor detail that we’ve got a baby now. I always find it hard to explain what exactly it is that I do with my time (am I a stay at home mom, work at home mom, part time working mom?), but I think I did alright.

And last but not least, I took the scary step of setting up international shipping in my shop. I’ve been totally intimidated about estimating costs and figuring out packaging (since I usually use free Priority Mail boxes which are crazy expensive to ship internationally), but after getting yet another request to ship to Canada I bit the bullet and priced out some boxes and dove into the lovely world of USPS price charts. So if you hail from the Great White North (or Europe, or Australia, or anywhere else in the world) and you just have to have one of my silver platters today’s your lucky day.

Now, if only I could get the motivation to tackle some of the nagging projects I’ve been avoiding around the house, like cleaning our disgustingly dirty porch in time for trick or treaters. Seriously, it’s bad.

I hope you all have a great weekend! I’m spending all day today interviewing potential babysitters. Please please please let me find someone wonderful.

You certainly know how to keep busy.

LOL yeah I like to be productive with my time-one of the many reasons pregnancy was so difficult for me! My body needed to rest but I was soooo frustrated just laying around all the time. I’m much happier now!

  4. Mommy hood looks good on you! That’s a really cute family photo.

If you don’t find a sitter you like let me know and I can send you a couple names. I supervise a church nursery on the weekends and some of the girls babysit during the week… Good sitters that already have background checks! But just let me know if you’re still looking.

Thanks, Carnisha! I actually hired someone! I’m really excited about her, but thanks for letting me know about the church nursery girls! I will definitely keep that in mind as a resource if my situation changes.
