Q: Why was the ghost hung over the day after Halloween?
A: Because he got sheet-faced with his friends!
Happy Halloween! Now that that’s out of the way, on with today’s regularly scheduled programming. Today I want to talk about fancy things. Since the day we unpacked our wedding gifts I have eaten off our china almost every day. Ham and cheese, hot dogs, pizza-nothing is deemed unfit for the fancy dishes.
And the pretty towels in the bathroom? Yup, I dry my hands with them.
I wholeheartedly believe in using and loving the most beautiful things you own. This is totally a Flylady principle, and even though I don’t shine my sink or put on lace-up shoes every day this particular sentiment has really stuck with me. The lacy undergarments I wore under my wedding dress-I totally put them on under jeans just to go to the grocery store (sorry I don’t have a picture). I can’t think of any other examples right now but I think it’s a wonderful way to live. Stop saving all your nicest things for special occasions that never happen and start letting them be a part of your everyday life. And if you don’t have beautiful things? Well, learn to love the things you’ve got. Because there’s no sense in pining away for what you don’t have unless you’re actively working to get it.
That’s my wisdom for the day. Now I’m off to play a spirited game of peek-a-boo, haha.
Agreed!
Fancy plates are for every day of the week. And fancy underwear too.
Lol for sure
I agree with you completely. If you save things for good, they get put in the back of the cabinet and good never comes. Use them, enjoy them and don’t get upset when something gets cracked or stained. We obtain things to use and enjoy, not to hoard and hide away.
Exactly!
