It’s Friday Friday

We are just chillin’ here at the Tryforos house today. No projects, no appointments, just our weekly lunch date with my friend Cassie and plenty of low-key hangout time. It feels like this has been the longest week of all time. Jack has been sleeping great at night but naps have been tough, and I don’t know if it’s the cold weather, teething, or what, but he’s been super clingy. My back is still hurting from when I slipped on our porch steps last week (awkward. How old am I? 87?) and it’s hard for me to hold him all day. Also, since I started working again he’s been refusing to take a bottle on the one day a week he’s with a sitter, so I’m scrambling to teach him to use a sippy cup before Tuesday rolls around again.

On a positive note, the sun is shining, it’s Friday, and at this very moment there’s a sleeping baby in my arms. I’d rather he nap in his crib, but I takes what I can get. On the agenda for this weekend are a few organizational projects, some quality time with Nicholas and our good friend the television set, and maybe swinging by an estate sale in my ‘hood. Eh, and I guess I’ll pull a few weeds if I feel so inclined, since Mother Nature did such a good job loosening up the soil with all the rain we’ve had the past two weeks.

What do y’all have planned for this weekend? I feel like such a Debbie Downer today. Hopefully some downtime over the next few days will recharge my batteries and I’ll be back to feeling cheerful come Monday. Otherwise, I’m just going to have to whip myself into shape! No moping allowed around these parts!

  1. I just found your site and I love it so much.

    That is all. : )

  2. Enjoy your relaxing weekend!

  3. You don’t sound like Debbie Downer; you sound relaxed!

Where is the estate sale you’re talking about? Rost st? If I go Saturday morning, I’ll text you how it looks.

Until then, have a great time with your boys & Cassie!

  4. Have a great weekend. I hope your back feels better soon.

  5. Hi Charlotte- don’t stress it if he won’t take the bottle. One day a week, he’ll be fine! He’s a smart boy, he’ll figure out what to do…. (but don’t put mom’s milk in the bottle- or sippy cup- I’m sure he wants that the real way.
and I hope your back feels better soon. If you are thinking about weed pulling, it must be on it’s way to recovery.

I think I may have been a little too optimistic with the weed pulling. Took Jack on a neighborhood walk today and was really sore after. I think I need to rest it a bit more!
