I finally got around to putting ornaments on our tree yesterday! Don’t mind all the needles on the floor–they’re just there for extra decoration.
Since this tree is smaller than ones we’ve had in the past I didn’t use nearly all of them. I stuck mostly to the silver shatterproof ornaments I bought in a moment of foresight a few years ago. They all look pretty much the same in this photo but some of them are glittered, some shiny, some matte, and some look like miniature disco balls. I dig ‘em. And Jack actually doesn’t seem all that into them so far despite the fact that balls of all types remain one of his top interests.
I love the big, old-fashioned lights. So colorful! The only thing is that they will break if you’re not careful when putting them up and taking them down. I’m proud to say that there were no casualties this year but we’ve had plenty in the past. The other items on the tree–the tree topper and the garland–were both made by me and the tree skirt was purchased at a garage sale a few years ago. I sprayed the whole operation down with this stuff as soon as it went up and the cats have been leaving it mostly alone.
Happy Thursday, y’all, and thanks for reading!
