For the most part my kitchen has gotten much prettier over the past few months:
But while DIY giveth, DIY taketh away. The counter in the adjacent laundry room has been piled high with tools, supplies, and scrap wood for weeks. Best to keep everything handy, right?
And though I did not actually finish any projects this weekend my kitchen seems to be in a perpetual state of construction.
I know it’ll be over soon, and the end is actually in sight, but I am so ready to get my house in order again! I’m also in a hurry to finish up a couple of storage/organization projects that are on deck so that I can put everything in its place. It’s going to be awesome when it’s done but we’re not quite there yet.
Hi! Was wondering where you got that fabric in your laundry room? The “skirt” that you made for the shelf that has tools on it in your picture? LOVE it!
That’s one of my favorite projects ever! The fabric is made by Thomas Paul and I bought it on etsy. You can read about how I made it here: http://livingwellonthecheap.com/2013/03/12/hiding-the-litter-box-with-a-fabric-skirt/
I’ve been following along with your kitchen projects and I think it’s looking great! I love that you work with what you have and aren’t afraid to try new things! I enjoy reading your blog.
Wow, that is such a huge compliment! Thank you so much!
Oh, I know how you feel! Sometimes I think subconsciously I make a big mess when I’m in the middle of projects so that I will finish them and give myself a break when they are all finished. Then a few months pass and I get the itch to do something somewhere else and it starts all over again. It’s healthy – I think. LOL!
Hahaha you’re so right!
Hi Charlotte!!
I was inspired by your use of a fabric skirt to hide the litter box! We were initially thinking of building a little cabinet that the cat could scoot behind, but due to a lack of time we decided to try out the fabric. And I’m so happy I did!!
Yay I’m so happy it worked well for you!
Thanks so much!!
