On Principle

Recently I’ve had some experience with people pressuring me into doing things I don’t want to do. Whether it’s partnering with a business that would be of absolutely no interest to my blog readers or working more hours than I’m comfortable with, I’ve found myself saying “no” more often lately. But you know what? It’s easy when I’m firm in my reasoning.

IT'S NOT HARD TO MAKE DECISIONS WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR VALUES ARE.”

Have a happy Thursday y’all, and may you stand on principle whenever necessary.

  1. As a reader of many blogs, I appreciate saying no to some of those sponsored posts! I remember a new blogger who did a sponsored post on soup. It made no sense whatsoever for a DIY blog, LOL. If I can tell something’s sponsored I usually roll right on to the next blog. I know bloggers gots to get paid and I don’t mind the occasional sponsored post from the ones I love. But some of these bloggers are up to 2-3 per week and it’s just crazy!

Even small time bloggers like me get an alarming amount of solicitation. My policy is that I’ll only partner with brands that I would actually use, but sadly most of the offers I get are complete crap-usually no name companies wanting to use me for SEO optimization.
